Have you been on the search for an assisted living or senior community
care center for your loved one? At
Mount Carmel Assisted Living, we know that this can be an overwhelming process, and for some, you might
not even entirely understand how assisted living works.
What we do is try to provide a soothing environment for the elderly suffering from
dementia, and other
memory-related disorders. We believe that with the right amount of care and attention, we can help
make living much more relaxed for our loved one.
We offer tours of the facility seven days a week at our assisted living
center in Hampton. We have been assisted the memory-impaired since 1986,
and it is our hope that we make your loved one have all of the comforts of home.
Here are some of the most important things to know about assisted living:
Assisted living provides a residential community for the elderly and those who need care, and often offer nursing services,
home health, and other skilled professional medical services. At Mount
Carmel Assisted Living, our emphasis is on holistic memory care.
Assisted living is not a nursing home. Nursing homes employ nurses and other medical staff to provide round-the-clock
medical attention when necessary. In an assisted living center, this is
not necessary, as residents do not need ongoing care. Assisted living
will usually offer residents either a studio-style apartment or a one-bedroom,
while nursing homes will have patients will have a private or shared room.
Assisted living communities can be dedicated to certain types of caregiving, including memory care and dementia. This
means hiring staff equipped to handle the unique demands of memory care
patients and ensuring that the facilities are adapted for the patients’
safety and comfort.
Mount Carmel Assisted Living Care has
over three decades of experience caring for patients who are dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
We have a behavior management program designed by Dr. Coury that is meant
to ease some of our patient’s systems, by calming aggression and
exercises to strengthen the memory.
